We created an “action plan” and I submitted “preparation forms” each week before our phone discussion. We talked about problems and opportunities at length. She boosted my morale and my confidence each week, and helped me identify my “blindspots” at work, as well as re-discover my strengths/talents, and reminded me to be more patient. One of the perceptions some people had of me at work is that I am “unapproachable” and, at times, “too direct.”
Yes, my personal and professional gains have favorably impacted my organization. Shortly after my coaching process started, I had to create several major client presentations, and make 40+ presentations before large and small client groups on a new product, which is entering our market… they began asking me to accompany them on major sales calls out of town and to participate in more client pitches.
